Alice + Olivia Summer
I recently had to chance to visit an Alice and Olivia store and loved every minute of it! What I
found was a bright array of colors and styles which are fun while being sophisticated.
One of my favorite pieces is the white faux leather skort. I don’t know how they do it,
but A+O has the softest faux leather out there that holds up beautifully. The fabric has
some give, and it also provides the wearer the extra security for a mini by being a
skort—something I appreciate as I don’t wear minis often.
Also, the pleated Benny ankle pant with the elastic waist is a standout. The pant is
made of a luxurious polyester that has the feel and sheen of silk without the hassle.
When paired with the matching top, it becomes a gorgeous monochromatic outfit that
goes anywhere and screams elegance. Pair it with the Alair sweater duster and you
make a statement.
If you’re looking for a cardigan that’s versatile, the Trina royal blue cardigan is for you.
As someone with a petite frame, I appreciate that the fabric fits close to the body and it
has the added bonus of petite puff shoulders which creates a nice silhouette,
particularly for those that have a triangle or hourglass shape. The piece draws the eye
up as a focal point, making the hips appear slenderer.
Overall, there’s something for everyone in the A+O collection this season, even more
conservative dressers can find beautiful staples which add a little flair to their wardrobe.
Tammy’s Truism: Summer dressing should have a touch of playfulness which is easily introduced by bright colors and fun prints. When shopping prints, make sure they reflect the size of your frame, so they don’t overtake you.
