Alice & Olivia Spring 2023 Collection
I had the opportunity to visit the A & O store to view their spring pieces. A & O’s current looks are strong and bright, both in terms of color but with a bonus of one of my favorite things: embellishment!
I’m like a moth to a flame…
One of the eye-catching pieces is a black and white double breasted tweed blazer with bling on the lapels. The detailing on the lapels adds some sparkle, but its embellishment is such that you could wear it out on date night and it’s appropriate to wear to the office with a black sheath. So too for the beautiful white pleated blouse with a collar that’s all beadwork—stunning!
Another great piece is a long pink and black grandpa style cardi that has rhinestones around the collar and down the front, along with small pink flower poufs scattered across the sweater with tiny sequined stems. Though it sounds like a busy pattern, the embellishments add some pop with wonderful balance throughout.
A must are two black and white sweaters with detachable collars and cuffs, which without, serve as a great basic to any wardrobe. The finishing adds a nice flair to the solid merino wool sweater and the high contrast of the cuffs and collars make a great statement.
A & O’s spring 2023 collection has vibrant colors with distinctive patterns, fine detailing, and embellishment. At first glance, it may seem too bold for you. However, I would argue that A & O’s pieces are “statement” or “signature” garments that fit into any wardrobe depending on how you style it, giving the wearer some je ne sais quoi.
Needless to say, I didn’t leave empty handed.
