Pulled Together Outfits

During the holiday season, regardless of activity, everyone is rushed for time and feeling

behind on their “To Do” list, (always, right?). Though you may feel this way, outwardly

you want to look like you’re on top of it—this is easier than you think!

How, do you do this?? By dressing in an outfit that looks pulled together. There are a

few simple tips to achieve this, while reducing your stress and making it easier to get

dressed when rushed.

First, limit the number of colors you wear in an outfit to three. This doesn’t include a

multi-colored sweater or top, but it does include accessories. With a multi-color top,

make sure your bottoms are solid neutral, allowing the top to be the centerpiece.

Second, build your outfit to match whatever style of shoes you’re wearing, either casual

or dressy. Take your lead from any detail on the shoe and replicate the color or detail

elsewhere on your outfit. Here, think of furry boots with a matching furry scarf.

Third, dress monochromatically from top to bottom. In this case, you then can add

accessories, which can stand out or match one another, though matching accessories is

old school.

In the end, find a formula that works for you and set it aside in your closet. If you have a

few outfits, the better off you are. Hang them altogether, then when in a rush next time,

you can grab one without even thinking about it.

Tammy’s Truism: Once you’ve identified a few outfits, find what approach works best for you—monochromatic; casual or dressy; or neutrals with a multicolored piece. The best part of this is you can then copy this throughout the year, always staying one step ahead.
