Fall Trends: Something for Everyone

As fall trends start appearing, having cleaned out your closet, you’re ready to shop but

where to begin…

This fall, there’s much ado about elevated basics—easy to incorporate into any

wardrobe while adding a higher level of refinement. Though these are a safe bet, you

may end up paying for the additional detailing, so you will need to balance it against

your cost-per-wear calculation.

The fall colors for New York Fashion Week are a mix of brilliant jewel tones and

supporting classic hues which fit into any wardrobe. When seeing these colors,

however, don’t get distracted and choose an undertone which doesn’t match

yours—both blue and yellow undertones are present this fall.

If you don’t know your undertone, try on both to see if one of them makes you look more

vibrant and the other makes you look drained. I find taking a selfie in each undertone

gives you a bit of extra perspective.

The structured bag with a top handle is making a solid appearance this fall, along with

classic loafers paired with lighter socks. A return in the making is also the leather

trench coat, and I will certainly be digging mine out of the closet to achieve the “all over

leather” look of this season. Satin shirts too are in the front of the line.

Plan out your shop by making your “needs” list and determine what you’re willing to

splurge on and where to save, to avoid regrettable purchases. Remember to look for

the fit that’s appropriate for your shape and reflects your authentic self.

Tammy’s Truism: When considering a seasonal trend, determine what speaks to you,

knowing that then, you can incorporate it for seasons to come.
