Flair For The Holidays
Now that we’re into daylight savings, we’re fast approaching the holiday season,
regardless of what or how you celebrate. This time of year is magical—magical in that it
seems to arrive sooner each year.
What to do when it catches you off guard and you’re feeling frazzled?? Hide it by
looking a bit more polished by adding a bit of faux or real fur to an outfit, which is always
eye-catching. It “elevates” your look, providing refinement, to what was otherwise is just
another garment.
These days, faux fur is luxurious and can be seen anywhere from trim on a sweater or
collar, coming in many colors and types. I like fur accessories as they’re much more
versatile and are easily added to any outfit. The synthetics used for faux fur has gotten
so good mimicking fur that many are indistinguishable from the real thing.
When dressing, however, I recommend not wearing more than one fur item per
outfit—don’t get carried away. Also, when purchasing an item with fur, make sure it
looks and feels like fur.
Old school, manmade fur is out there and if it is rough and scratchy, take a pass, you
have so many other affordable options. This is particularly so when your whole purpose
is to choose a piece for your outfit that gets people’s attention.
Tammy’s Truism: One of my favorite pieces is a fur infinity scarf, which never goes out of style. For whatever reason, this added touch makes life feel a bit more lavish and puts a bounce in your step.
