The Power of the Perfect Piece

Have you ever gone shopping, looking for the “perfect piece” to add to your wardrobe??

If you’re like most, we all want it as part of our wardrobe, but it is nearly impossible to

find when you specifically shop for it. The “perfect piece” is as elusive as it is difficult to

recognize.

I define the “perfect piece” as one of three items: 1) a garment that fits you perfectly

the second you put it on; 2) one that reflects who you are, like your own signature; or 3)

completes your outfit, while taking it to the next level. In all cases, when you put it on,

its universal impact is that it makes you feel like a million bucks. It can also be any type

of garment and may even come from a consignment shop. Finally, all other garments

you try on that day pale by comparison. If that’s the case, this garment is the only one

you should be purchasing.

How do you find this extraordinary piece, you ask? First, you need to stretch your

comfort zone and then, you need to be patient enough to try it on. Our “piece” is

typically uncovered when we least expect it and can be as simple as catching our eye

on the way to the dressing room. The piece will not be found without

actually…trying…it…on because the “perfect piece” never appears significant at first

glance. It can, however, be transformative both to your style and your confidence.

Tammy’s Truism: Until you either know what brands or fit work best for you, successful shopping is largely based on having the patience to try on lots of garments.
